You Know You're A True Child of the 80s When...
Anyone remember the Texan bar chocolate and revells......👍😁
I’d completely forgotten Tooty Fruities! I adored those.
The gay fella Maldwyn in grand slam was also a hardened criminal in the Sweeney
I just adored Toffos. Especially the liquorice flavour.
I loved Pacers. But my abiding memory of them is biting into one and losing a filling. 😮
I always felt Bar Six was more of a biscuit than a chocolate bar
I’d completely forgotten about Secret. Sublime. But they need to bring back the Cabana.
Fry's Five centres were my favourite, still miss them
You look a lot different to how I pictured you. I imagined you looked something like Leonard Rossiter.
Texan was my favourite
I remember my mum having a green shield stamp catalogue with those items. In it How innocent we were
Unsure if you've mentioned these in previous videos, but I remember the Maverick bar being pretty good. Haven't seen any of these for a while, so guessing they've also been discontinued.
Used to love Maverick bars. Such a shame they only had a very short run.
I went to school in England My favorite show was Ludwig I was 1 i3 in1977
Corona cherryade was a big favourite of mine as a kid
Lost a tooth with a Texanbar
I just scored a respectable 42 / 50 ! xx
Nice!
Does anyone remember a show, I think it was called 'The Changes'. All the electricity in the world??? suddenly stopped working, and a young girl packed some belongings and her teddy bear (for some reason I vividly remember the teddy bear) and went to find out what went wrong. I have very vague memories of this, so it must be early to mid 70's. For a children's show it was really creepy.
Del Monte Pear Halves with Carnation Milk (probably from Kwik Save) after my Grans Bully Beef Hash - Sweet memories.
I just scored 42 / 50. Good quiz xx
Great score! Glad you enjoyed the quiz. Many thanks.
I loved the "Texan", "Drifter" and "Golden Cup". And from the honourable mentions "Carmac".
First met jake Abraham in 89 when I was 17. he live in the same St as my brother and he invited me to a party. Was still in touch via fb. Was heartbreaking to hear of illnesses and passing. Remember everyone please get you're checks done don't put them off.
In North Kent our fizzy drinks were delivered on a big open backed lorry. Anyone else remember Mr Bacon fizzy drinks?
Anyone else remember the joy of Golden Wonder Smokey Bacon crisps turning your fingers orange for days? How are we still alive? 😂 Eat crisps on Monday and lick your orange fingers on Wednesday and you can still taste Smokey Bacon 🤣🤣
Born in '68, it's clear now that we grew up in a golden age. I think 911 was the start of the horrible decline and now the ghastly post-covid lockdown years.
I grew up through the 70's. Such great talent on TV. Love those memories xx
QUATRO WILL ALWAYS BE MY FAVOURITE ❤ I LAST DRANK ONE IN 1992 🙏
Don't know where you live but here in Derby you can still buy caramac, it's mine and my SIL 's favourite.
Sadly, once the remaining stock left in shops at the moment is gone there won't be any more. Nestle have ceased production now.
All about flake snow
Man I’d forgotten about secrets they were boss chocolate bars👌👌 I want one now🙄
I always fancied Paula Wilcox
I'm very surprised to say that I've never even heard of any of those. They must've been very obscure indeed, or maybe only shown south of the border. I genuinely thought I'd seen basically every British TV show made in the 70s. I do however remember that wallpaper... I think ours was in the kitchen.
2:27 Skin sticking to vynl seats were the only way of keeping in the seats as there were no seat belts in the back seats muchless childseats
I remember jenny hanley the bloned touch ' good looker in her day 😍
I rememer the texan bar ' juicy & chewy 😁 & the topic 💥 the nutty bar ' it was like eating one big peanut 😄
I had 2 Raleigh choppers silver jubilee edition mag wheels mk2 chopper also had blue MK1 chopper I fitted 27inch chrome forks off BSA tour de France sometimes I'd grifter front wheel so was long forked like motorbikes envy of pals sowe had craze late 70s then came BMX but that's 80s icon 70s hardened us up for real world no namby Pamby woke puffs or X offenders telling kids more genders idiots male female rest are demented fools
Thank you for the trip down memory lane.❤😅
My pleasure!
I remember grange hill ' i suppose the people who conplained about it ' were anti drug campainers ' zammo was a smackhead ' sorry hooked on drugs 🤧
We went to the British music experience a couple of years ago and loved it, Liverpool is a magical place we try to go a couple of times a year , nice video 😊
Absolutely, it's a fine city. Glad you enjoyed the video. Many thanks!
Great video - nostalgia at its best. You did miss a trick though - should have got a shot of the Ferry Cross The Mersey!
Should have done yes! Glad you enjoyed the video. Many thanks!
Now - our Stu - I'm sure I taught you some chords a way back! What was that signed Les Paul up behind Midge Ure's HH Strat there?
I think you did my friend but they've long gone out of my head now. You know, I can't remember what that Les Paul was. I was so busy filming I forgot to check the info!
I will not get to Britain and this was wonderful. Thankyou so very much 🇦🇺😊❤️
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks!
Missed just one, when spin city came up, I said 21 Jump St. Got all the rest though, but where was Scrubs?? It at least started in the 90s! Great quiz though!!
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks. Great score too!
I remember Dick Turpin with a completely miscast Richard O'Sullivan in the lead role.
I used to drum when I was a teenager. I was in a band and everything! We'd do mainly hard rock and metal. My biggest (and only!) claim to fame is playing at The Stables in Milton Keynes. We had a blast! I'd like to think I'm more Phil Colins, the best drummer ever! Great seeing Iron Maiden, Sabbath, Saxon etc. represented at that museum, so many places seem to omit hard rock and metal like it's something to be ashamed of. Didn't see any Genesis there though, which would deduct points!
Yes, it's great there is a rock section there. Can't recall seeing anything Genesis related.
Shandy Bass was lovely on a hot summers day straight out of the fridge. They also did a Shandy Pilsner in a white can. The nearest i can find to Shandy Bass these days is Ben Shaws Bitter Shandy sold in Sainsburys. I remember Top Deck in the local corner shop. There was also a brand of pop called Suncharm which was very popular in the 80s and early 90s.
19 out of 25 good start bad finish thank you
Thank you for sharing and letting us all see these magical memories
My pleasure!
I loved the cabana it was ahead of the bounty , cabana was elite
As always thoroughly enjoyable. Thanks Stu. My wife and i are enjoying the new format of the StuView on tour series. Although he wasn't British, Ronnie James Dio was amazing in Rainbow and Sabbath, and he hired British musicians when he created his own band. He is definitely my GOAT singer - what a huge voice from a tiny man.
Oh yes, what a huge voice that man had! So glad you are enjoying these new videos! Many thanks as always.
The TV is full of shite reality now with idiots being hailed as celebs. The reality is that the vast majority of these are talentless fools that should never be paraded to the public.
